Job Description
Our client is growing their team and looking for a Production Planning Supervisor to take charge of production planning, material planning, and inventory control at manufacturing site. You'll be the key link between Production, Procurement, Sales, Logistics, and our contract manufacturing partners — making sure supply always matches demand and customer orders ship on time.
This is a great fit if you've built your career in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain within a high-mix, low-volume or high-tech manufacturing environment, and you're ready for a role with more ownership.
Role:
- Build and maintain production and material plans based on demand forecasts and available capacity
- Ensure raw materials and finished goods are always ready to keep production running and deliveries on time
- Manage inventory levels and reduce excess & obsolete (E&O) stock
- Spot and resolve E&O risks early, working with the right teams to fix them
- Coordinate across departments to solve supply, capacity, and scheduling issues
- Track and report KPIs — on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, and risk metrics
- Prepare management reports and presentations for senior leadership
- Drive continuous improvement projects to strengthen planning processes and systems
- Keep planning data accurate and current in the ERP/MRP system
- Jump in on urgent tasks and special projects as needed
Requirements:
- Degree with 8+ years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain — ideally in a high-mix, low-volume or high-tech manufacturing environment
- Strong background in inventory control, including excess & obsolete (E&O) management
- Experience leading process improvement projects in supply chain or operations
- Skilled with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel
- Able to build clear, data-driven presentations in PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
