Summary
Our client is hiring a Senior Buyer to join our procurement and supply chain team in a high-tech manufacturing environment in Singapore. This role covers supplier negotiation, purchasing, supplier development, and inventory management, working closely with Engineering, Production, and Master Scheduling.
Ideal for candidates with experience in high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) or high-tech manufacturing, such as semiconductor, electronics, or precision engineering industries.
Role:
- Lead supplier quoting and negotiation, balancing project scope, budget, and margin targets
- Drive strategic supplier development, selection, and qualification
- Manage the transition of products from engineering to production
- Oversee supplier performance and project management end-to-end
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and requisitions
- Track invoices and goods receipts, ensuring accurate records
- Maintain material availability and inventory at optimal levels to support manufacturing
- Manage part transitions from development to production, reviewing ERP demand and coordinating with Master Scheduling and Sales
- Support engineering prototype and new product development demands
- Handle complex, high-priority assignments independently, recommending new processes to solve problems
- Own supplier performance metrics for critical, high-complexity commodities
Requirements:
- Ideally Degree with at least 5 years' experience in procurement or supply chain management
- Strong background in supplier negotiation and supplier management
- Ability to write technical and operating procedures and complex documentation
- Comfortable using tools to prepare electronic documentation
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
- Strong independent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in engineering-driven manufacturing environments
